The SMG-managed Altria Theater and Richmond Coliseum both landed in the top 50 of United States venues in their respective Pollstar first-quarter rankings of concert venues based on ticket sales.
Altria Theater ranked No. 32 among U.S. theaters (No. 40 worldwide) and Richmond Coliseum checked in at No. 45 among U.S. arenas (No. 82 worldwide) in the publication’s quarterly ranking. The rankings are based on total ticket sales reported to Pollstar for touring acts between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2017.
“We are proud of the quality entertainment we are able to provide to the people of Richmond at all of our SMG-managed venues,” Regional General Manager Dolly Vogt said. “We look forward to providing lasting memories to all our guests throughout the rest of 2017.”
First-quarter touring acts at Richmond Coliseum included Disney On Ice, Monster Jam, Luke Bryan, the Harlem Globetrotters, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, WWE SmackDown and Casting Crowns, all of which were among Pollstar’s top 100 tours of the first quarter based on ticket sales. Altria Theater hosted top-100 tours Dancing with the Stars and Paw Patrol LIVE, as well as the CenterStage Comedy Tour, Chris Rock, Migos and Earth Wind & Fire. Full arena, theater and tour rankings can be found in the April 17 issue of Pollstar.
