The Coliseum strives to meet all structural and service requirements as stipulated by the American with Disabilities Act. Guests with disabilities will find restrooms, drinking fountains, ATM’s and counters that are accessible for them. Additional services are listed below.
Wheelchair accessible seats are available in all price levels. Three companion tickets may be purchased with each wheelchair accessible ticket. Please indicate when purchasing tickets if you require accessible seating.
Accessible Drop Off
Patrons with disabilities may be dropped off at the Fifth Street and Seventh Street entrance next to the sweetFrog Box Office.
Accessible seats are available on each level of the Coliseum. One companion ticket may be purchased with each wheelchair accessible ticket. Please indicate when you are buying tickets (if you require accessible seating). For additional information, please call 804-780-4970 ext 120.
Each level of the Richmond Coliseum is equipped with several automated external defibrillator (AED) which can save lives in the event of cardiac arrest. Each AED location is designated with specific signage that shows locations. In the event of an emergency, please notify the nearest staff member who can help direct you to the nearest location and will notify emergency personnel on site.
Virginia and Federal Law prohibit the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 21. Therefore, guests are required to show proper identification and proof of age when purchasing alcoholic beverages within the coliseum. The number of alcoholic beverages may be limited to one drink per person, per purchase. Management reserves the right to refuse service to guests who appear intoxicated or who are disturbing other guests. Beer sales are discontinued approximately 45 minutes before the end of the events. We encourage guests to drink responsibly and not drive after drinking.
For your convenience, an ATM with both internal and external access is available at the Sixth Street entrance.
Backstage passes are not available and may not be purchased thru the Coliseum. These are solely controlled by the entertainer.
Banners and Signs
Banners and Signs are permitted with promoter approval. As long as they do not block the view of others, interfere with the event, contain any form of advertising, present a safety hazard or contain political or obscene material. Banners may not be affixed with any permanent materials that might alter the facility whatsoever. Poles of any kind are prohibited. Building management reserves the right to remove any banner or sign. Signs may also be prohibited if requested by the event.
sweetFrog Box Office
The sweetFrog Box Office located at the Seventh Street entrance is open weekdays 10:00 am -2:00 pm (Summer box office hours June 5 through Labor Day). Will Call during events will be within the Seventh Street interior Box Office. On event days the box office normally opens three hours prior to show. Tickets may also be purchased pre-show at Ticketmaster.com. Questions may be directed to 804-780-4970. The sweetFrog Box Office will be closed Monday, Jan. 16 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
For most events, at the request of the artists or leagues, cameras are not prohibited. Audio recorders, video recorders and digital cameras with video capabilities are prohibited during all events.
In the event of a cancellation, tickets may be returned to your point of purchase for a refund. If tickets were ordered by phone or online, a refund will be applied to the credit card used to purchase the tickets.
Most events do not require a ticket for children under the age of two. However, in order for a child to have his/her own seat, a ticket is required. Some shows intended for young children require children over the age of one to have a ticket. To inquire about specific events, please call 804-780-4970.

Cellular phones are permitted provided their use does not prevent other guests from enjoying the event. The use of camera and video features may be restricted if requested by the event. The Richmond Coliseum has a limited number of Club Seats. In addition to premium seats with great sightlines, club seat ticket holders receive access to the exclusive Coliseum Club. The distinctive space within the Richmond Coliseum offers a perfect spot for pre or post event functions. In addition, the space is available during the year to host meetings, hospitality events and private gatherings. With easy access from either the concourse or the Lower Leigh Street Entrance guests will be charmed by the elegant atmosphere of the space. Events are catered by SAVOR…Richmond. The Main concourse at the Coliseum features a range of dinner, snack, dessert and beverage items with multiple points of sale during events. Choices include Pepsi Products, Papa John’s Pizza, Dippin Dots as well as Grill Works and other favorites prepared by SAVOR…Richmond. Please note no outside food may be brought into the arena. Designated Driver Program
The Richmond Coliseum and SMG want you to enjoy your visit and have a safe trip home. If you feel that you need assistance please notify any staff member. We will do our best to assist you in getting to your destination.
Directions indicated are to the nearest intersection of the Richmond Coliseum. The Main Entrance is normally located at 6th Street. However, please check with event staff to confirm the main entry for your event (Normally 6th Street Entrance) . Parking opportunities are available at both private and public facilities within close proximity to the venue
For most events, doors open 60 minutes prior to start time of the event. This may vary by event. For specific information, please call the Coliseum at 804-780-4970 or check the event specific page on www.richmondcoliseum.net.
Charities and other non profit groups requesting donations or auction items from the Coliseum should submit in written request on Organizational letterhead to: Richmond Coliseum, Attn, Director of Sales/Marketing, 601 East Leigh Street, Richmond, VA 23219. Please allow (3) weeks for processing.
Elevators are available at both the Lower and Concourse levels. The Concourse elevator is located at Section 19L and can provide access to the Upper/Lower Concourse. Patrons requiring access to the Coliseum Club, arena floor and exhibit halls can access an elevator from the Lower Leigh Street Entrance. See maps at the end of this guide for exact locations.
There are three public entrances to the Richmond Coliseum at 5th, 6th and 7th Street. Normally the 6th Street entrance serves as the main public entrance. Please refer to event information provided on the website for the particular event to determine the official entrance. Drop off locations at 5th and 7th Street closest to the sweetFrog Box Office are available for those needing assistance. There is also limited handicapped parking available for vehicles with proper identification at these locations.
Elevators: There is (1) passenger elevator and (1) freight elevator. The passenger elevator located at 1L provides access to Upper concourse and arena levels.
In the event of an emergency, please remain calm and walk to the nearest exit. Follow posted signs and listen to announcements for specific instructions. Upon entry, please locate the nearest exit to your seat. Please do not use elevators in the event of an emergency. If you are disabled, trained members of the Coliseum staff will assist you to safety.

The Coliseum has professionally trained emergency personnel on site for events. First Aid facilities are located on the Arena floor level. In an emergency, please advise the nearest staff member for assistance. They in turn will alert emergency staff
Floor Seating Access
Upon entering the coliseum proceed to either section 19L or 31L to access stairs to Floor Seating
In order to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, we ask that while visiting guests be courteous to those around them and abide by building policies. Guests using foul or abusive language, behaving in an unruly manner or appearing intoxicated are subject to ejection or arrest.
Guest Services desk is located at the Seventh Street entrance on the main concourse. This area provides guests a convenient location to obtain information, offer suggestions, voice concerns and request assistance during events.
The distribution of promotional items, handbills, flyers, pamphlets, printed materials, as well as the solicitation of signatures is not permitted on Richmond Coliseum property without prior written authorization from SMG

Lost and Found
During an event, you may inquire about lost and found items at the Guest Services Desk located at Seventh Street Entrance. For inquiries following an event, please call 804-780-4970 ext 100 during normal business hours. Items not claimed within 30 days of event will become property of the venue.
Any lost or stolen ticket can be reprinted at the sweetFrog Box Office. The person who ordered the ticket with the proper credit card and photo ID will be required
Twelve luxury suites are available at the Coliseum. Located on the first level these suites offer excellent site views for all events. Each suite includes ten (10) plush chairs, four (4) bar stools and lounge seating along with private restroom, which can accommodate seventeen (17) guests. Catering services are provided thru Savor Richmond, with a wide array of delectable offerings. Each suite has a private restroom, refrigerator and buffet area.
Signage: Each suite ha a posted sign with the suite’s number and owner’s name. Corporate advertising inside the suite is available upon request at the expense of the Suite Holder with approval of SMG.
Celebrate in Style: Our guest services team can assist Suite Holders with arrangements to make their evening special. Balloons, floral arrangements and specialty cakes can be designed for anniversaries, birthdays or other special occasions. Please contact the Sales Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance and allow a minimum of 72 hours for us to assist. Luxury Suite owners receive tickets to every event at the Venue. Merchandise is available on the Concourse during events.
We ask that you arrive early and travel light, as you may be subject to search. This includes metal detecting and bag search. For safety reasons, prohibited items include but are not limited to:
- Alcohol, drugs, illegal substances or any paraphernalia associated with drug use
- Audio/Video recorders, professional cameras (at the request of promoters use of cell phones may be prohibited during events) and tripods
- Cans, bottles, coolers or any outside food or drink
- Flags or signs with poles
- Laser pens or pointers of any type
- Noisemakers or air horns
- Oversized bags
- All Illegal guns and weapons are prohibited
- Pepper spray/Mace
- Chains, knives and spiked jewelry
- Any other items deemed unacceptable by event/facility management
If an item is revealed during a search, patrons may dispose of the item or they may return the item to their vehicle. Richmond Coliseum does not safeguard any personal belongings of any type.
For your safety, once a person exits the Richmond Coliseum, re-entry is strictly forbidden
Please confirm your ticket selection at the time of purchase as tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
Resale of Tickets
The resale of the event tickets on the grounds of the Richmond Coliseum is strictly prohibited. To avoid problems with counterfeit or stolen tickets, or inflated prices, please purchase your tickets thru authorized Ticketmaster outlets only. We cannot assist in the event that you have purchased at a non Ticketmaster outlet.
Richmond Coliseum staffs private security and Richmond Police to provide security before, during and after events.
Trained guide dogs or service animals are permitted to assist guests inside the arena. If special accommodation is needed for your service animal, please notify us at the time of your ticket purchase. All other animals are prohibited
We do not allow large strollers. If you must bring a stroller it must be an umbrella type that can fold and stow under your seat.
Smoking is prohibited in all public areas. A designated outdoor smoking area is located outside across from Section 19L on the concourse level (next to Grillworks)
Telephones are available at the SMG admin offices within the lower level of the concourse. If needed please reach out to our Guest Services personnel and they will assist you. Reach out to any usher and they will assist with directions to the nearest phone.
The Coliseum has a limited number of wheelchairs available on a first come first serve basis. Wheelchairs may not be borrowed or rented as seating during the event. If wheelchairs assistance is necessary during an event, please notify the nearest staff member as you enter. You are welcome to bring in your own chair to assist with egress around the facility during events.
When purchasing tickets by phone or online, you may choose to pick them up at Will Call. During the week, Will Call is located at the sweetFrog Box Office at the Seventh Street Entrance. During events, please enter at Seventh Street and use the Interior Box Office. Please be prepared to provide the credit card used to purchase the tickets as well as a photo id. Press and VIP tickets, or tickets left by a third party, may also be picked up at Will Call prior to event with a photo ID required.
