SMG Richmond Announces Job Fairs for Part-Time Seasonal Positions

SMG, the leader in privately managed public facilities has excellent and immediate openings for Seasonal Temporary Custodial, Changeover Staff and Box Office Staff at SMG Richmond Serving: Richmond CenterStage, Landmark Theater and the Richmond Coliseum.

Positions require the ability to work flexible/odd hours including nights, weekends and holidays based on the event schedule. These are seasonal, temporary part-time positions and are shared between all three facilities. Reliable transportation is a must as most events end after the last bus run.

We will be interviewing for the following positions:

10:00 AM UNTIL 2:00 PM

Custodial Leads — male and female
Leads will assist the Operations Supervisors and the Housekeeping Supervisor with activities required to manage the event process by organizing and leading the housekeeping crews to perform effectively, efficiently and to proper specifications. In addition to the duties listed below.

Custodians — male and female
Cleaning of the interior and exterior of the facility to include sweeping, mopping, buffing, dusting, vacuuming, and window cleaning. Clean restrooms including, but not limited to, removal of trash, restock paper products, and clean urinals, sinks, and toilets. Must be willing to operate various types of cleaning equipment including, but not limited to: vacuums, floor scrubbers/sweepers, buffers, various cleaning tools, and any other equipment or tools used by the Housekeeping Department — both event based and day-to-day. Previous experience is preferred.

10:00 AM UNTIL 2:00 PM

Changeover Staff – Change over the facility for events by performing the following duties:
Event changeover includes moving, arranging, setting and removal of items needed for events. Items requiring setup and tear-down may include but are not limited to stages, tables, chairs, barricades, linens, football fields, and equipment. Changeover staff may also be required to perform custodial duties. Cleaning may include clean-up during and after events.

10:00 AM UNTIL 2:00 PM

Box Office Ticket Seller– Responsible for ticket sales for shows or events by performing the following duties: Opens and/or closes ticket window as required. Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes change accurately. Maintains accurate count when selling hard tickets or accesses computer for count of computer printed tickets. Completes daily ticket sales report. Keeps accurate daily balance sheet of cash received and tickets sold; balances sales and change bank and submits cash to Box Office supervisor or manager for audit. Fills reservations for seats by telephone or mail, handles Will-Call window according to procedures, or other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills; responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance, able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.

Efficiently and courteously answers questions concerning prices, seating and events. Gives information concerning coming attractions. Files various records and reports. Performs related clerical work as assigned. RETAIL, MONEY HANDLING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.

Box office positions require a satisfactory credit screening in addition to the standard background.
